At the request of many of our customers, QMI® has modified the Safe-Septum/Aseptic Sampling systems to facilitate the use of probes.
The QMI® Probe Septum allows processors to place temperature probes, pH probes, oxygen sensing probes and other probes that measure various perimeters for processing. The QMI® Probe Septum will also facilitate the use of time/temperature recorders that are presently being introduced to the dairy, pharmaceutical and food processing industries.
The QMI® Probe Septum is aseptically designed and will keep unwanted organisms from contaminating your process. It is also pressure and temperature safe. QMI® has tested the Probe Septum in-line at 150 psi at 250º F. for 210 hours. During these testing procedure no leaks were detected.
As with the QMI® Safe-Septum/Aseptic Sampling System, the Probe-Septum is pre-sterilized and can be easily retrofitted onto any processing line, fermentation vessel or other closed stainless steel systems.
The Probe Septum also accommodates large needle use. Needles as large as 10 gauge can be inserted into the Probe Septum to sample or inoculate viscous liquid. It is designed with one large needle channel in the middle, which will accommodate the probes or large needles. There are also 6 remaining needles channels around the outside of the sampler which will accommodate sampling with 18 gauge 1½" needles.
The Probe Septum is made with silicone and is FDA approved for food contacts surface.
