Inoculation/Injection Procedure:
1. At desired time of injection, remove dust cover.
2. Sanitize injection port outer surface with a proper strength sanitizing solution.
3. Aseptically place needle (or needles) onto sterile syringe or other transfer container.
4. Insert needle through QMI Port and into tank or other vessel to inject cultures, nutrients or other liquids as desired.
5. Withdraw needle (or needles) and dispose of properly.
6. Replace QMI Port after each channel has been used only once
Sampling Procedure:
The QMI Safe-Septum can also be used for aseptic sampling using the following procedure:
1. At desired sampling time, remove dust cover.
2. Sanitize Ports outer surface with proper strength sanitizing solution.
3. Aseptically place needle on sterile syringe.
4. Insert needle through one of the unused guide holes in the Port.
5. Fill syringe with sample. Remove needle and dispose of properly.
6. Conduct laboratory analysis as necessary.
7. Replace the QMI Port after each channel has been used only once.
